Rev. Cay Randall-May, Ph.D. is a prayer worker and healer, prayer group leader, and medical intuitive. She is also a licensed massage therapist. Ordained as a minister through the International Council of Community Churches as well as the Science of Mind Church for Spiritual Healing, she has held certification as a spiritual healer with the Universal Holistic Healers' Association. Scott Walker, M.D., is a psychiatrist specializing in addictions. His research interests focus on the complexities of spiritual and healing interventions and their interactions. While on the faculty with the University of New Mexico he received a grant from the NIH Office of Alternative Medicine to study Intercessory Prayer and Alcoholism, and has been involved in numerous pharmaceutical and clinical research projects. Pat Winstead-Fryis a nurse who has been practicing Therapeutic Touch and visualization for almost 25 years. She recently added Tellington T-touch to her skills. My main interest is CAM research on these difficult subjects. With Dee Krieger, she developed the Subjective Experience of Therapeutic Touch Scale that can be used to document that the healer is doing Therapeutic Touch. David A. Eichler, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of Energy Medicine and Spiritual Healing at Holos University Graduate Seminary. Along with his wife, Monika, their focus is helping to shape the paradigm of research methodology within the field of energy medicine. David also works as a behavior analyst and educational consultant in Northeast Kansas on a multi-disciplinary technical support team within the public education system.

Mitchell W. Krucoff, MD, currently serves as director of the Ischemia Monitoring Laboratory and Director of Interventional Clinical Trials for the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI), as Senior Staff in the Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Duke Medical Center, and as Director of the Cardiovascular Laboratories at the Durham Veterans Administration (VA) Medical Center. He is past Editor in Chief of the journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine. Since 1990, Dr. Krucoff has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences in Puttaparthi, India. He has published more than 50 articles in refereed medical journals and has written numerous book chapters on various aspects of cardiology and coronary care. He is the principal investigator of the Monitoring and Actualization of Noetic Trainings (MANTRA) Study Project at the DCRI.
John Palmer, Ph.D.

John A. Palmer , Ph.D. is presently Director of Research at the Rhine Research Center in Durham, NC, where he also edits the Journal of Parapsychology and serves as Director of their Summer Study Program for students. In addition to heading the graduate program in parapsychology at John F. Kennedy University, he has held research positions at the University of Virginia, the University of California at Davis, and the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands. Dr. Palmer has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters, and he is co-author of the book Foundations of Parapsychology: Exploring the Boundaries of Human Capability.
Jerry Solfvin, Ph.D.
Jerry Solfvin, Ph.D., has a longstanding interest in healing research, beginning in the 1970s when he was a research associate at the Psychical Research Foundation at Duke. He has conducted studies of experimenter expectancy and has written a comprehensive literature review of “mental” healing. He has taught research methods and stats at John F. Kennedy University and at the California Institute for Integral Studies. Dr. Solfvin also worked with Elisabeth Targ and her team at the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute.
Dr. Solfvin currently consults for CPMC (especially Garret Yount) and others (e.g., Roney-Dougal & Solfvin, 2002; Yount, Solfvin, Qian, 2003). Locally he is networking with the new Indic Studies Center at UMass-Dartmouth, which hosts Swami Yogi Satyam who initiated him last year into kriyayoga. He also sits on complementary therapy committees for the Southcoast Hospital Group and the Marian Foundation which sponsors programs in this area. He takes a social psychologist's perspective on spiritual healing. He views it less as a specific treatment, which can be tested in a clinical trial, than as a multi-leveled communication process, best viewed as non-specific or extra-treatment effects.

Diane Wind Wardell, Ph.D., RNC
Diane Wind Wardell, Ph.D., RNC, currently teaches in the masters and doctoral programs at The University of Texas Houston, Health Science Center. She is a certified holistic nurse and a certified Healing Touch Practitioner and Instructor. She maintains another faculty practice appointment as Research Director for Healing Touch International, where she provides consultation to researchers and publishes a biannual update of research in Healing Touch, the Research Survey. Her research publications focus in the area of women’s health and alternative therapies.
Garret Yount, Ph.D.
Garret Yount, Ph.D., is a molecular neuroscientist exploring how promising complementary and alternative medical therapies might be integrated with conventional medicine in the treatment of patients with cancer, focusing primarily on the brain tumor glioblastoma. Dr. Yount and his co-investigator, Yifang Qian, M.D., Ph.D., were awarded two grants from the NIH’s National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine to conduct frontier research in this field. His laboratory applies state-of-the-art molecular biology tools to assess the efficacy of Chinese herbs and energy medicine under rigorously controlled experimental conditions.
